Tower Foundations & Concrete

The foundation sets the tolerance for everything that gets built on top of it. We set anchor bolt cages to the manufacturer's template and pour to the engineer's spec — not to a field guess.

Overview

Every tower erection starts and ends with whether the foundation is right — anchor bolt pattern, embedment, concrete strength and cure time. We build to the structural drawing we're given, not a standard template, because monopole, lattice and guyed foundations aren't interchangeable and neither are the tower manufacturer's anchor bolt patterns.

We pour and finish foundations ourselves and we also take over mid-sequence if a GC needs the rebar cage and anchor bolt pattern verified against the drawing before a pour that's already scheduled.

What's Included

  • Foundation excavation to engineered depth and dimension
  • Rebar cage and anchor bolt pattern setting, verified against the tower manufacturer's template before pour
  • Concrete pour and finish — monopole drilled pier, lattice pier-and-pad, guyed anchor piers
  • Guy anchor foundation installation, including grade-level and below-grade anchor types
  • Cure time management and strip/form removal per spec
  • Backfill and compaction to engineered density
  • Pre-pour anchor bolt pattern verification — catching a template mismatch before concrete goes in, not after

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you verify the anchor bolt pattern before the pour, or after?
Before — the anchor bolt cage gets checked against the tower manufacturer's template before concrete goes in. A mismatch caught after the pour means breaking out concrete; we catch it before.
Can you take over a foundation job mid-sequence if our scheduled pour is at risk?
Yes — if the excavation and cage are in and the pour is scheduled, we can step in to verify the cage and run the pour, provided we get the structural drawing in time to confirm it against the field condition.
What photos do we get of the rebar and anchor cage before it's covered?
Full photo documentation of the cage and anchor bolt pattern before the pour is standard in our closeout package — it's the only record once concrete covers it.
Do you handle guyed tower anchor foundations, or only monopole/lattice piers?
All three foundation types — drilled pier for monopole, pier-and-pad for lattice, and guy anchor foundations for guyed structures — are part of this scope.

Crew & Certifications

  • OSHA-30 site leads, OSHA-10 on every crew member
  • Qualified riggers for cage setting and material handling per ANSI/ASSP A10.48
  • First Aid / CPR / AED current on every crew
  • Crew experienced reading structural foundation drawings and tower manufacturer anchor bolt templates

Equipment

  • Excavation and drilling equipment sized to foundation type and soil conditions
  • Anchor bolt templates and verification tools matched to tower manufacturer specs
  • Concrete placement and finishing equipment
  • Compaction equipment for backfill

Documentation

  • Pre-pour anchor bolt pattern verification record against the tower manufacturer's template
  • Concrete placement record — mix, pour date, cure schedule
  • Site-specific JSA for excavation and pour
  • Photo-documented closeout package including rebar/anchor cage photos taken before the pour covers them

Mobilization

We typically mobilize within 24–72 hours of a signed scope, depending on crew location and distance from the nearest base (Philadelphia PA, Florida, Colorado).
